What to Expect

  • What can I expect in my initial consultation?

Your initial consultation is an opportunity to discuss your goals and concerns. We’ll share our therapeutic approach and ensure you feel comfortable with your therapist.

  • Our Approach to Therapy

We offer a range of evidence-based therapy approaches tailored to your needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Therapy, Brainspotting and more. Our therapists are skilled in adapting these techniques to meet you where you are, whether you prefer structured skills-based sessions or a more open space for emotional processing.

  • What can I expect during my first appointment?

The initial appointment is an assessment. We explore symptoms and issues that bring you to therapy, the history of these issues, and an overview of your upbringing, relationships and life stressors, in order to get a more full picture of what is going on.

  • Treatment Planning

After your first session, you and your therapist will create a treatment plan with clear goals, and we’ll regularly check in to track progress. The frequency of sessions will be tailored to your needs, ensuring that therapy evolves as you do.

  • Ongoing Support:

Therapy is a partnership, and your active participation is key to progress. You can expect continuous guidance as you work toward meaningful change.

As you progress through therapy, you may experience a range of emotions and insights. It is normal to feel a sense of relief, as well as moments of discomfort or vulnerability. Your therapist will create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore these feelings and navigate through any challenges that may arise.

Overall, therapy is a journey towards self-discovery and personal growth. With the support and guidance of your therapist, you can develop the skills and insights needed to overcome obstacles, improve your well-being, and create a more fulfilling life.
